[78] Served in the US Army from 2/42 to 12/45. All but 3 months were spent
overseas. He saw extensive combat in New Guinea, the Philippine
(Luzon) Invasion, and was among the first occupation troops to land in
Japan. He was awarded the Silver and Bronze Stars for heroism.
Always an entrepreneur, he became a partner in the largest real estate
firm in Cincinnati, West Shell. He retired in 1994.
