A newspaper clipping was found describing John G. Schneider's silver anniversary as recording secretary of the SS. Peter and Paul court No. 61, Catholic Order of Foresters, with a picture of his wife. The article reads:
Order of Foresters Pays High Tribute to Recording Secretary
The SS. Peter and Paul court No. 61, Catholic Order of Foresters, held their first spring dance on April 17, at Odd Fellows hall, Wilmette. Over 100 people were present to honor John G. Schneider, 2536 Glenview road, Wilmette, on his anniversary as recording secretary.
The dance was climaxed with speakers from the High court, State court and SS.Peter and Paul court. Thomas H. Canon, chairman of the board of directors presented a silver rosary to Mr. and Mrs. Schneider, in behalf of the high court. He reminded the members present the honor that was theirs to have his eminence, Samuel Cardinal Stritch as a member of the organization.
State Officer Speaks
James Doody, high state treasurer, after congratulating Mr. Schneider on his jubilee, praised Mrs. Schneider for her role as a "Forester widow" during the past quarter of a century. Mr. Doody also gave a report of the assistance's given by the order.
Other speakers of the evening were George H. Pfaff, state chief ranger; Richard T. Tobin, state recording secretary; and the court's own spiritual director, the Reverend Herbert Boesen.
Master of Ceremonies
The master of ceremonies was Francis Schneider, SS. Peter and Paul court speaker, and son of the jubilarians.
In behalf of the court, Father Boesen presented Mr. and Mrs. Schneider with a heart of twenty-five silver dollars.
