He married Margaret Augustine April 1923. Joe Wambach Jr recalls his mother saying that it was extremely cold for that time of year on her wedding day, and it snowed as well.
He emigrated, 1909. Point of origin: Eastern Europe. Never became a US citizen Emigrated to the USA at age 10. Never became a US citizen.
He was a violinist. At age 10 when he emigrated to America, he walked around the ship playing his violin, and fellow passengers would drop coins in the sound box. According to him, the violin was over half filled with coins when they reached America.
He was trained to be a telegrapher for Western Union, but when WWI broke out, he was not a citizen and was fired by Western Union. He struggled to find a new career, but always felt his golden opportunity was denied by circumstances of his nationality during WWI.
