Joanne died December 5, 2015 am, at the Beaumont Hospital Hospice, Clawson, Michigan. Her husband Darrell writes, "If 'comfortable' can be used to describe her passing, she was that and prepared for her life ahead. Son Mark and I were with her at that most important time and most of our other family members were nearby. She was ready to accept her journey which actually started 20 some months ago, back in February, 2014. It progressed from Acute Myeloidialplastic Syndrome at that time, to 'Acute myeloid leukemia' about 6 weeks ago. Her Dr. indicated that time was getting short and that it was 'leukemia on the move'. And he was very correct. But, in that way I was also very fortunate to have had her with us at home for such a long period and allowed us family time together.
"Plans are still in process but at Joanne's request, a memorial service, if any will be delayed until the spring. Further information should be available on the Gramer Funeral Home, (Clawson, MI) website in a couple of days."
