  General Notes:

From 1179 to 1181 Marie was left as Regent for Champagne when Henry I went on pilgrimage to the Holy Land.

Regent of Champagne resumed when her son also went on Crusade, governing Champagne from 1190 to Henry's death in 1197.

Marie married Henry I DE CHAMPAGNE 'the Liberal, Count of Champagne in 1164 in France. (Henry I DE CHAMPAGNE 'the Liberal, Count of Champagne was born in Dec 1127 in Vitry-le-François, Marne, France and died on 16 Mar 1181 in Troyes, Aube, France.)
