 General Notes:
Janice Schneider suspects from census records, that Johannes came to
the United States about the same time as his nephew Wilhelm. She
believes that Stephanus, Wilhelm's father and brother of Johannes, had
died in 1839 when Wilhelm was two, and his mother, Maria Catherine
died in 1937, possibly at Wilhelm's birth. Then Stephanus remarried
in 1938 and died in 1839 after having two more children with his
second wife, maybe Wilhelm was raised by Johannes, as they immigrated
about the same time.
Johannes married Walburga KRIEG on 12 Nov 1852 in Chicago, Illinois. (Walburga KRIEG was born in 1821 and died on 27 Dec 1878 in Winona, Minnesota.)
