Paul HUERTER

  General Notes:

Paul died 2/2/1886. Paul's occupation: Saloon Keeper in Gross Point, IL, 1870. The 1870 Federal Census lists them as Paul and Dorothea "Hester," living in Wilmette, with four children (Anton, Joseph, Peter, and Catherine), and mentions his occupation of saloon keeper. The saloon was located in Gross Point on the west side of Ridge Road, about half way between Lake Avenue and Schiller Street. Later, it was operated by their son Jacob G., until his death in 1909.

Paul married Dorothea SCHNEIDER, daughter of Anton SCHNEIDER and Gertrude HUERTER, on 12 Jan 1858 in Gross Point, IL. (Dorothea SCHNEIDER was born on 5 Sep 1837 in Kehrig, Prussia and died on 18 Jan 1921.)

  Marriage Notes:

She married Paul Huerter in Gross Point, IL, 1/12/1858. They were granted a dispensation from the Church since they were second cousins. They were married at St. Joseph Church. Paul was the son of Peter Joseph Huerter and Maria Elizabeth Ackerman.
