Born in Hungary or East Germany. Emigrated to the USA by himself
around 1900. Returned home to bring his family to the US around 1909.
Wife died in 1932, John moved back to Europe and died there shorty
after World War II.
He was a professional clarinetist. He played in the military band as
a member of the Austria/German Army around 1875. After emigrating to
the US he continued to play professionaly, and on at least one
occasion, played for John Philip Sousa.
Even though half of his life was spent in the USA, he always wanted to
return to his homeland, which he did following the death of his wife
in 1932. During World War II all contact was lost with him, but he
survived the war and died in his home village at 80 plus years of age.
